Primary healthcare enables access to health services: therapeutic, preventive, diagnostic, nursing, as well as rehabilitation. Who is a Primary Care Physician (POZ)
A POZ physician is a specialist we turn to first when something about our health begins to concern us. Therefore, a POZ physician is called a first contact physician. A POZ physician is obligated to provide basic medical care based on the patient's health condition. Who can be a POZ physician? A POZ physician can be:- family physician
- pediatrician
- internist
- internal medicine specialist.
When Should You See a POZ Physician?
A POZ physician is the first doctor we visit when health problems begin to bother us. Their main task is to provide basic care. First and foremost, they must conduct a preliminary interview with the patient and check their basic vital functions. When necessary, they can order diagnostic and specialist tests, as well as issue a referral to a specialist physician. Primary healthcare also provides us with referrals for rehabilitation or sanatorium treatment.POZ Physician – Scope of Activities

POZ Nurse and Midwife
Services under Primary Healthcare also include care from POZ midwives and nurses. As for nurses, services mainly include preventive, therapeutic activities, diagnostics, as well as nursing and rehabilitation treatment. In the case of a community midwife, we are provided with both nursing-obstetric and gynecological care. POZ midwives care for pregnant women and those immediately after childbirth. How to Choose a POZ Physician
All services under POZ are provided to persons insured with the National Health Fund who have chosen a POZ physician, nurse, or midwife. This requires submitting an appropriate declaration – this can be done through the Patient's Internet Account.
