Esperal implantation procedure requires good health. Absolute contraindications are:

• severe liver failure, liver cirrhosis,
• kidney failure,

• epilepsy and neurological diseases,
• pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• disulfiram allergy,
• active psychoses.

Pre-Procedure Requirements:

• 24-48 hours complete abstinence – body must be alcohol-free,

• Keep dressing dry for 24-48 hours.

• Change dressing every 1-2 days with sterile gauze.

Disulfiram reacts with ethyl alcohol regardless of source – also absorbed through skin. Avoid: dishes with wine-based sauces, alcohol desserts (tiramisu, chocolates), wine vinegar, alcohol-based cough syrups, ethanol mouthwashes, aftershaves and warming ointments.

Before using new product check composition – look for words: "alcohol", "ethanol". Most everyday products are safe.
